Evalyn Packard

My work brings together writing, analysis, marketing, visual presentation, proposal development, and business support. I approach each project with a strong focus on audience, goal, and response.

I bring more than 30 years of experience helping clients develop ideas, organize information, and create materials that inform, persuade, and prompt action.

Mercari Consulting was built entirely through referrals and word-of-mouth, without any paid advertising. Faced with limited resources in the early 2000s, I taught myself HTML, Google Analytics, and other skills as my clients' needs required, a resourcefulness I still rely on today.

My client work has spanned the United States and Canada across a wide range of industries, from real estate and construction to nonprofits, technology, and beyond. My proposal writing helped secure major project wins including the Baltimore Hilton Convention Center and Hotel, along with the Defense Media Activity Building, the Mary Baker Engen Restoration Hangar at the Smithsonian's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center (Chantilly, VA), and other major public- and private-sector pursuits. I also wrote the award-winning submission that earned the Baltimore Hilton Convention Center and Hotel the ABC Baltimore Project of the Year and Award of Excellence, along with an ABC National Eagle Award for the Social Security Administration Operations Building, an AGC Sustainability Award for TC Williams High School, and a Mid-Atlantic Construction Best of 2008 recognition for Equinix.

I have also served in association leadership myself, including as Executive Director of the CSRA Floor Covering Association (Augusta, GA), giving me a firsthand understanding of association operations, board communications, and member connection.

My academic background includes two master's degrees, including a Master of Science in Marketing, along with a graduate certificate in Social Media Marketing and a bachelor's degree in Management.

My professional experience has also received national recognition. I was featured in The 2-Second Commute: Join the Exploding Ranks of Freelance Virtual Assistants for my marketing expertise and in Military Money magazine for building a successful portable career as a military spouse despite the career challenges created by frequent moves.

Decades of hands-on experience in grammar, editing, and proofreading mean every piece of writing gets the same level of care, whether it is a single sentence or a full document.
